Can I run an amplifier that says 6amps from an adapter that outputs 1amp?
I want to purchase a mini stereo amplifier on eBay.

The seller in China lists the amp as needing 12v 6 amp. When I said I want to purchase a AC power adapter he indicates I buy one that is 12V DC MAX 1A

Is this going to work? My instinct says no but I’d rather hear from someone with some stereo or electronics experience.
Thanks
no. the out put of the adapter must meet or exceed the rating on the device using the power. if you are using more than you can provide the system will overheat and blow fuses and possible fire hazard.
