What kind of password encryption would be better …?
I'm debating between using an MD5 hash with salt and my own form of encryption. I like the idea using my own system, because there will be programs made specifically for brute force decryption. Thoughts?
How good are you at make your own encryption? The fact that you have to ask that leads me to believe that they are so good, so probably better off using encryption schemes established. If you are using strong passwords (and no dictionary words) the scope of your password bruteforce which are so thin as to be almost nonexistent.
