Electric Woks: Why You Need One In Your Kitchen

I received an Electric Wok for a birthday present from my brother and it is fabulous! I think that every kitchen should have one. One of the main reasons that I love this wok is that I can cook many simple meals in it and have very little cleanup.

Some of the things that I’ve cooked in this wok already are stir fried chicken, meat sauce for spaghetti, French fries, ground turkey, hamburger helper and I’ve even popped popcorn in it. It’s a great non stick wok and the cleanup is as easy as running a little soap and water in the bottom of it and cleaning it with a paper towel. I also cook hash browns with onions in it on the weekend and need very little oil. This has to be my favorite new appliance in my kitchen.

Normally when you receive a wok it does come with a recipe booklet but feel free to explore and make your own things. I’ve cooked omelets in it, sausages and anything that can be cooked in a pan can essentially be cooked in a wok. The other benefit to an electric wok is that you don’t have to use your stove which is nice especially in the summer.

My electric bill has gone down substantially since I make most of my meals with the electric wok. I no longer have to use two and three burners at a time to cook a meal.

There are woks that you can cook on your electric or gas burner and then there are electric woks. I didn’t think I would like the electric version as much as I do but I wouldn’t trade it for the world. As always make sure to use wooden or plastic utensils with it so that the non stick surface isn’t scratched up. Try a non stick wok and this will soon be your favorite kitchen appliance.
