egg roll casserole
Help! It’s my first time making Thanksgiving dinner!?

This will be my FIRST time making Thanksgiving dinner and I don’t even know where to start.

It will be 5 adults and a 1-year-old.

I kinda started my menu:
Turkey
Stuffing
Mashed Potatoes with Turkey Gravy
Rolls
Green Bean Casserole
Baked Mac and Cheese
Deviled Eggs
Relish Tray
and Apple and Pumpkin Pie

Does anyone have advice, recipes, hints to make this easier?
I think I’m stressing more than I should, but I just want it to be perfect.
Thanks for some of the advice.

Cranberry sauce and sweet potatoes were left out because none of the people coming like them.

Also, thank goodness I won’t be doing this by myself! My daughter’s god mother is coming over to help cook that morning and my fiance is going to babysit.

I think I’m going to buy frozen pies. Anyone have a brand suggestion?

Don’t stress. It’s not so bad. If you freeze your turkey, make sure you put it in the fridge a few days in advance to thaw so it’ll cook in a timely manner on the day.

As suggested, make everything ahead of time that you can. You can boil the potatos a day ahead and warm and mash them on T’day. You can also assemble most of your casseroles and bake them the day of, or bake them the day before and just warm on T’day.

The pies, prepare a day or two in advance. The more you get done before T’day, the less stress on you and the more time you will have to spend with your guests instead of in the kitchen slaving away.

It’ll be great, don’t worry! The best part is the good company…the food is just a bonus! ☺
